ok so ive got my preorder pack, and have entered the code. why cant i get the items when i enter /preorder? some posted earlier in this topic with pic of them weilding a scythe/sunspear.

help please.

I should mention we only found our after i spent a large part of the day on the phone with every eb/gamestop/best buy you name it in a 25 mile radius.
Most, like you all have experienced, had no idea what I was talking about and for the most part didn’t seem to interested in caring.
The one person who did at least have a clue was a EB Games manager in the mall but he didn’t have them in. It was as someone mentioned before a classic ship date compared to shelf date as far as he was concerned.
The compusa we did find it at I had called previously and had a man who barely knew who GW was tell me he couldn’t it in the computer and such and he didn’t think they would be carrying them. Just by luck I decided to call again several hours later in hopes of getting someone who at the very least understood English (not meaning the previous man was foreign but I mean he just didn’t seem to grasp language as a whole.)
A nice woman answered, knew exactly what I was needing and said they had 4. We know own 3 of them. (One is for my father in law.)

I checked in CompUSA, Best Buy, EB, and Gamestop today and none of them had them. BB said that I should check back next week while Gamestop knew nothing. EB said they didn't know about it and if there is such a thing, they haven't shipped in yet. EB's employee also asked me if I wanted to reserve a copy but knowing how EB works around here, I immediately rejected his offer. Found out that Fry's Electronics is selling the pre-release packs too and I'm sure they were in stock because they have it in their big ads on Fridays. Too bad the drive to there is long and a hassle.

So. I ordered mine off of BB's website with a gift card because I received a gift card from a long time ago. Expecting it come in a week or two.

Bestbuy doesn't get it in til the 24 (last day of pve preview) for some reason.

....regarding release dates. I'm an avid anime fan and this problem ALWAYS happens with that retailer. When the anime distributors announce their release dates for their upcoming titles, which happen to be on Tuesdays, like Best Buy does with their release dates, it always seems to be a week apart-Distributor on Tuesday the 12th and Best Buy on the 19th. I really despise that fact.

As far as Nightfall goes, I'm a bit peeved at the same situation and the fact that most retailers won't have the discs available for the weekend event. One can blame whomever, and it sux. At least one will still be able to play that weekend without the disc. Nightfall will be the first chapter I will purchase on release date (or the date I can first get it at a retailer). Prophecies and Factions were purchased well into their circulation period.

One thing I'm not going to do is to go out there and try to get the coolest armor and weapons right off the bat or be the first to do this or that. I want to make a new character, since all I have is one character that I've played through both campaigns and a couple of storage characters in post-sear Ascalon. I'm not into the fashion show that seems to have been happening nowadays and people desperately looking for those unique weapons and pets some out there seem to look for to be on top of the elite fashion world.

I will get the pre-release disc whenever I get a hold of one and the collectors edition hoping something good comes from it. If I get a cool pet, if they offer one, that would be nice, but it's a lottery there. I'm not about to spend 100k on something at the most 7 others can see at a time. (pets are not visible in town, like WoW). It seems like a bit much to me.

Best Buy's website is now saying the bonus pack will not release until Sept. 28.

I could be mistaken, after looking at so many websites, but didn't Best buy have the CE pre-order? It's not showing up now.

Yeah; I notice they changed it too. I guess now that it's "officially" on sale Bestbuy realized they wont have it out by the 24th. I never saw the CE preorder there myself.

Is this what we can expect in future releases from now on? We get the official Press Releases a month in advance and seeing a date that we should start seeing it.

And again we know more about the prerelease pack and the game while the stores again are clueless. With Factions it was understandable, but those mistakes should have been learned from it. I really have to wonder where the break down in commutation is. I am never buying anything from Gamestop again, it doesn’t make since to me to order it online (even though they don’t say it’s online version only) when there is a store in my town.

amazon sent out my stuff yesterday (shipped on the 15th) got my tracking number today.

anet could have very well sent out a million copies, but until the distributors/delivery/individual merchants get their own s* figured out, you are at their mercy, not arenanet's.

He probablly ordered it weeks ago. Amazon said they already sold out though so it's no longer listed.

Went to bookstore to check for new PC Gamer. All out of any PC Gamer mags. *sigh*

Went in to EB Games to see if they have the pre-release pack

Husband asks guys behind counter: Do you guys have the pre-release pack for Nightfall?
Guy: Nightfall 2?
Husband: No, Guild Wars Nighfall
Guy: Umm...no, never heard of it.
[We figure fine, idiots, theres a bunch of display stuff for GW and Factions and they dont know about Nightfall? Ah well, leaving the store to go find dinner for us and the kids]
Guy2: You guys should be playing WoW anyways. (Some other comment about coolness and lameness)
[I rolled my eyes but bit my tongue and left instead of saying "Yeah, and you should be laying off the Doritos for breakfast you b.f.f"]

So annoyed at Amazon, Ive had it on watch to alert me when it could get ordered since the link went up on GW site. Not a bloody peep. I want to use my gift certificate!

silly me, i payed $5 AND shipping... but hey its coming. You guys with your DEALS man, I shoulda just waited- i ended up dropping an extra 8 bucks on this doing it separately.

@Al- i have mine because we here on the forums have had info about it for what seems like forever. there has been about 400 billion threads about the presell kit and various threads describing different vendors' specific ways of selling it.

I ventured into my local GAME today in anticipation of grabbing a pre-release pack. Sadly I was met with blank stares from the slackjawed monkeys behind the counter.

They had absolutely no idea what I was on about. According to them there is no such thing as a pre-release package, just a pre-order for the full game.

got my copy today... tried best buy, nope.....went over to Fry's....had a bunch on the shelf, Fry's has my business from now on....best buy, well no need to every visit them again!

Yep when i want, i got mine at Fry's too, they had a crap load of copys and i also notices a 2 copys of Factions Nightfall CE. So i do their for now on, its like 25 min drive, but oh well. Also went to barnes and nobels and got the PC game with all the Nightfall info their. Also if you live in the Chi town area Fry's and barnes and nobels is the places to go.

Regardless, this shows that ANET and preorders/prereleases don't mix.

This is most likely one of the reasons why companies like EA have their own stores.
